Horse Feather Catchers was created
to celebrate the lives and memories of
our equine friends.

As a child Cat McKeen spent many
hours trying to convince her parents
that a horse could live comfortably
in the family garage.

Several years and many horses later
she still spends as many moments
with horses as possible though she
does not keep them in the garage.
A few of the intervening years
were spent on a ranch in Colorado
where she fell in love with
southwestern and
Native American art.

"I have always been interested in the
spirit feathers and dream catchers
that bring a connection from the spirit
world into our lives. I wanted to
create a keepsake that would
celebrate the lives of the horses who
have been my friends and companions."
The artist Cat McKeen and her horse, RJ McGiff, live in
Charlotte, Vt on a dirt road that isn't a short-cut to anywhere.

RJ is a 7 year old, Belgian/Racking Horse cross that stands
17.1 hands tall and weighs just over 1800 pounds.
"The daughter who won't lift a finger in the house is the same child
who cycles madly off in the pouring rain to spend all morning
mucking out a stable."
